Fixing Bad Haircuts and Botched Dye Jobs

Have you ever had a bad haircut or dye job? Never? If you haven’t chances are you are in the minority or you have never have your hair dyed before! If you are in the business world, a haircut is a fashion statement. If you have a conservative job, chances are you want to blend in with the crowd rather than sticking out!

If you have had a bad haircut, you can attempt to style it a different way and that may help. There are a variety of hair accessories you can buy such as hair clips, barrettes and other novelty items. If it is really bad, you might want to consider a hair piece. If you are upset with the haircut, you could return to the hair stylist who cut it and ask for suggestions on styling. He/She cannot give you your hair back that was cut, but they may have some suggestions that might help you.

If you are unhappy with your hair color, that may be an easier problem to solve. If you colored your hair yourself, you might want to try to color it again. This may correct the problem. If you believe it is too light, then darken it. If it is too dark then lighten it a shade or two.

If you over color this may be more difficult to fix. If you leave the chemicals in too long, your hair could turn a strange color such as orange or a brassy red. If you have tried and are unable to correct the problem, you may need to consult a professional hair stylist for advice.

If you are a swimmer you have encountered having your hair turn green. There are special shampoos and conditioners designed especially for swimmers. It is suggested that you shampoo your hair immediately after swimming to get the chlorine out.

If you are considering a drastic change in your look whether it is a different hair color or style consult a professional for advice. You may want to take into consideration your face shape. If you have a picture, it is recommended that you take that with you, so that you have a reference. You may not have the face of a movie star but, you can certainly have the cut and color of one!

If you do change the cut or color of your hair, speak with your stylist about ways to maintain it so that it remains healthy. If you have recently changed your hair color to a brunette, blonde or redhead, they have shampoos and conditioners designed specifically for your hair color to help maintain it. You may want to seek advice from your stylist as to specific styling products so that your hair looks good and stays healthy.

Most importantly, have fun with your new cut and color and enjoy your new look!
